ABOUT JEFFREY D. SHORT
Hey, just wanted to share a bit about my story.
I was born in Meridian, Mississippi, on October 24th, 1961 the fifth of eight kids. I discovered my love for drawing at age nine, and by fourteen, I caught the attention of an art school in Minneapolis the same one Charles Schulz, the creator of Peanuts, attended. But since it was far from home, my parents didn’t let me go.
I graduated from West Kemper High in 1980, and even though I got an art scholarship, I chose to join the Navy instead. I served as an electrical mechanical equipment repairman and traveled to countries like the Philippines, China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, and Australia. During those travels, I started designing my own clothing and at just 20 years old, I had pieces manufactured in the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Fast forward 40 years, and I created Botail a patented hybrid tie that blends the bowtie and necktie into one unique piece. It represents my journey as a designer and my commitment to pushing creative boundaries.
I'm Jeffrey D. Short a visionary designer with over two decades of experience in luxury fashion. My passion for innovation and quality led to the creation of Botail’s groundbreaking hybrid technology. Now based in Los Angeles, I continue to redefine modern menswear with designs that are not just functional, but truly beautiful."
